Lacrosse,
the oldest game in North America, is a sport that requires and
rewards speed, agility, teamwork and endurance. It combines
the fast-paced action of basketball, excitement of ice hockey, and
the field-sense of soccer to create a unique game for players and
spectators alike. Anyone
can play
lacrosse regardless
of size or stature.
Coordination, speed, and agility is more important than
brawn. The game is played on a soccer field with a stick, the
crosse (‘la crosse’) which is used to throw, catch, scoop, and
shoot. Lacrosse is played by both boys and girls. For
more information about lacrosse visit the US Lacrosse website
(national governing body for men’s and women’s
lacrosse).
